Q.  What makes your program different from other weight loss programs?
I make it different. I teach functional training which focuses on the core while toning the entire body. You can train several muscles at the same time, drastically reducing work out time. And I make it fun. I like to be happy and motivated and I wouldn't want any less for my clients!

Q.  Can I eat carbohydrates?
You absolutely NEED carbohydrates!! They provide energy. Expecting your body to perform without carbs is like expecting your car to run without gas! The trick is to learn the proportion of carbs, proteins and fats.

Q.  Why do you focus on calories?
In order to lose weight, we need to take in fewer calories than we expend. Plain and simple. Doing this in the proper way is crucial and something that I discuss with my clients.

Q.  Can I dine out while using your program?
  YES!

Q.  Can a vegetarian be on your program?
Absolutely. Several of my clients are vegetarians. It's important for these clients to remember to get sufficient amounts of protein in their diet.

Q.  Can I drink alcohol while on the program?
  In moderation.

Q.  Will I go hungry using your program?
Quite the contrary! Most of my clients think that severely restricting their food intake is the way to lose weight. It's actually the best way to put ON weight! I will teach you how and what you should be eating.

Q.  Does your program make room for favorite food cravings?
Yes. Exercise and weight loss shouldn't be torture. I don't put my clients on diets. We make lifestyle changes. These changes have to include our favorite things or we won't stick to them!

Q.  How much weight can I lose per month on your program?
Individual results vary, but if you keep your training appointments and follow instructions on non training days, you can expect to safely lose up to two pounds per week. Losing more than that is not the healthiest way to go and the weight will typically come back, with additional pounds! I teach my clients how to lose weight safely AND effectively!

Q.  What type of goals should I set?
Set reasonable goals. Many people get over zealous at first and set themselves up for failure. Don't expect too much too soon. We don't get out of shape in a week and can't expect to get back in shape that quickly either. I start my clients with two or three one hr. sessions per week. With my functional training and your consistency, you can expect to get results in the fastest, safest way possib

Q.  How often do I need to weigh myself while using your program?
NEVER! With my program you'll be building lean muscle. For women, I don't mean you'll be looking like a professional bodybuilder! But you WILL become firmer. Depending on your circumstances, you may not notice a drastic weight loss, as muscle weighs more than fat. You WILL notice that your clothes are getting looser and that your body is becoming trimmer and more toned.

Q.  Do I have to go to the gym or exercise several hours per week to lose weight?
No. Overtraining is ineffective and actually hinders results. Learning proper training AND allowing for rest periods is crucial to obtaining desired results.

Q.  Can I follow the program if I'm pregnant?
There is no set program. Individual programs vary depending on my clients needs and fitness levels. Pregnant women have different needs and their programs will be developed accordingly.

Q.  Can I use your program if I am already taking prescription medicines for weight loss?
  Yes.

Q.  Can I be on the program if I have high blood pressure or diabetes?
Having high blood pressure and/or diabetes are two very good reasons to begin a workout program. Strength training has been found to improve both those conditions.

Q.  What if I have a pre-existing condition that is not listed?
Call me and we'll discuss it. I need a COMPLETE history before beginning any training program.

Q.  What are your qualifications? Have you been professionally trained or certified?
I am certified through the National Acadamy of Sports Medicine. Trainers with this certification are often paid more by gyms as it's one of the most respected certifications. I have trained with the New York Sports Club as well and regularly attend continuing education seminars.

Q.  Where do you train your clients? Do you train clients in their own home?
I have a complete gym in my basement, or if clients prefer I will go to their homes.

Q.  Do I need a home gym in order to train at home?
No. I bring my equipment with me.

Q.  Do you provide dietary advice?
  Yes.

Q.  What are your rates?
I charge $70 per hour when training in your home. $60 per hour in my home gym. I offer training for couples at $40 per person per hour. For groups of 3 or more I charge $30 per person, per hour.

Q.  Do you provide any guarantees on results?
I can only guarantee results when my clients follow their training program.

Q.  What makes you different from other fitness trainers?
My NASM certification for one plus over 20 years of exercise and fitness experience. The training you see the stars doing for movies is the same type of training you'll get. Your routine is always changing and NEVER boring! I have always loved fitness which is why I've decided to make it my career. I like to make it not only effective for you, but lots of fun as well.
